Tabaung (March)
   The last Myanmar months festival is that of sandheap pagodas. It is the time when the water in rivers and Streams has dimmished to its lowest level and banks of pure, white sand appear in several places. Pious people of ancient days made the best use of the pristine sand by building it into small pagodas and offering wild flowers, foods, lights and other things to them. This lovely way of communion with nature also has become a thing of the past-ording pagodas festivals have taken its place today. Most festivals are accompanied by music and dancing and many features feasts and good souvenir hunting! At whatever time you visit Myanmar, you are likely to find one or more if you only Know where!


   March is the most colorful month of the year with Pagoda Festivals in full swing everywhere. The Shwedagon Pagoda Festival is held on the day of the full moon of Tabaung and is the month’s finest event. During this festival, visitors can get to know the true religious feelings of the people of Myanmar by participating in events at pagoda fairs or by observing the rituals of the holiday.
Tabaung all over the country, Shwedagone Pagoda festival Yangon{March 16-17}
   This is the last month of Myanmar lunar calendar. The most colorful month of the year with Pagoda Festivals in full swing everywhere. The Shwedagon Pagoda Festival is held on the day of the full moon of Tabaung and is the month’s finest event. During this festival, visitors can get to know the true religious feelings of the people of Myanmar by participating in events at pagoda fairs or by observing the rituals of the holiday.
Shwesayan Pagoda Festival Mandalay {March 24- April 21}
   Merchandise from northern Shan State and other part of the country are exchanged at Pagoda bazaar.

Shwemyitsu pagoda festival Inndawgyi {March 19-26}
   Ceremony sponsored by Kachin Buddhist. The summer, a footpath leading to the pagoda surfaces enabling pilgrims to walk to the pagoda. Usually the pagoda is surrounded by a large volume of water.


   On full moon day (24th Mar) in Pindaya with offerings made by the native tribes such as Danu, Pa-O, Taung Yoe and Palaung. Festivities include performances with roaming artisans and the festival market. Pindaya cave festival Pindaya {March 19-26}: Typical Taung Yoe pagoda festival. Different ethnic minorities can be seen. 11th waxing day of Tabaung (Pindaya, Shan State) 5-day ceremony ending March 19. This is a typical Taungyo pagoda festival where different ethnic minorities can be seen celebrating in their colourful garb. Pindaya Shwe Oo Min Pagoda Festival (Pindaya, Shan State) Shwe Oo Min Pagoda cave, located in Pindaya, about 45 km, North of Kalaw, celebrates its festival on and around the full moon day of Tabaung. During the festival time thousands of devotees throng to the cave to pay homage. A pagoda mall is set up at the foot of the hill selling local products, food and seasonal fruits.
