Shwebontha Pagoda

Location||Inside the walled precinct of the Shwezigon Pagoda near the eastern entrance and south of the cause-way.
Donor/builder||Unknown; no evidence is found.
Art and Architecture||On the square image house stands a Ceti, with three arched entrances. The devotional hall faces north and in the cave is a seated statue of the Lord Buddha. The image house measure 22 feet from east to west, and 22 feet from north to south. The height of the Ceti is 31 feet. Inside the cave are paintings on the walls, depicting human figures paying homage to the Lord Buddha. On the outer walls are found stucco mouldings of the fine quality.
